Extreme 101st Mandelbulb Zoom

Description

I wanted to do something really extreme so I loaded a 101st power Mandelbulb into ChaosPro and started exploring. This is what I found. Apparently, there is no limit to how far you can go. Interestingly, the 101st power formula renders at about the same speed as the others. I think that's due in part to the formula's use of trig functions rather than implicit multiplication.

Unfortunately, the shadow map and ambient occlusion settings didn't seem to apply properly on the disk render. It worked in the preview window. Maybe it's a memory issue. Oh well. It still looks awesome anyway.

EDIT: I re-rendered the scene in the program window at huge scale and the shading looks much better now.

4800x3600, 5 iteration depth, 0:43:46 (h:m:s)
Not too shabby for a 3.5 year-old laptop (Core-Duo 2.0Ghz)

Camera Coordinates...
x= -0.00327186
y= 0.75190586
z= 0.6767284
60 degrees F.O.V.

Download [link] for the full gigantic render (warning - huge filesize 8.9mb)!

PS: I couldn't help but notice after staring at it for a while, but the cave inside that Mandelbulb looks an awful lot like a female c***! :horny:

I couldn't help noticing something similar about one or two of my own [non fractal] efforts aegiandyad.deviantart.com/gall... . Mandelwerk is able to make parts of the Mandelbulb look like modern versions of whole women by Vermeer, Ernst or Dali!
