Yet another take on the Metaphase concept. I follow the 3rd order spine on the large bulb, then zoom in on the spike of a minibrot, generating needle like tendrils with chaotic dendrites. I start generating my signature X-chromosome fractals from there. The DNA within the nuclei multiply and quickly evolve to create complex life forms. I present to you, the slithering serpent.

Thanks to new perturbation methods for fractal rendering, I can zoom much deeper into the set allowing the creation of more intricate patterns. Rendered in Mandel Machine.

I love the "needle like tendrils"!

Is there a humanly-attainable zoom that will start showing them?

All I see are what you'd expect in an order-3 tendril.

By "chaotic dendrites", do you mean those (at the end of the tendrils)?

Chaotic dendrites are the finer lightning like dendrites found on 3rd order and beyond bulbs of the main set. iirc, I picked a satellite minibrot off a low order bulb of the Mandelbrot set, then zoomed into the tip of the needle to create the bold straight line segments. From there, zoom into a point sideways from the center of a segment to create an ")(" formation, then zoom into the center of one of the bent fragments to create an ")X(" formation. Rinse and repeat.
